3. When ready to make, preheat oven to 350. Line a 9×9 square pain with foil or parchment paper, leaving about a 2 inch overhang on two sides. This will allow you to lift the whole tray of brownies straight out of the pan.

4. Empty dry brownie mix into a large bowl and add eggs, vegetable oil, water and vanilla extract. Stir with a rubber spatula to combine (mixture will be very thick).

5. Pour brownie batter into prepared dish; smooth top. Bake 25-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack. Let cool about 15 minutes and then gently lift brownies out of pan back onto the cooling rack.

7. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Sooooo yummy!!! 😍😍😍

If you want a twist on the flavors, you can also add in peanut butter or butterscotch chips. So many brownie creations just waiting to be discovered with this homemade brownie mix! 🙂

If your family all loves the edges of the brownies best, you can grab this Wilton Baking Pan at Amazon to make individual squares. That way you could even customize some with peanut butter, some regular, and some with butterscotch (or maybe peppermint – yum!).

Hi Leo – If doubling the recipe, I recommend doubling the cooking time as well since it’s more that has to cook. I hope this helps!

Hi Jennifer, I can’t say for sure since it doesn’t last long around here, ha, but in an air tight container I would say up to 3 months or so! Hope that helps!

what if you dont have powdered sugar?

    • Homemade Brownie Mix (This is a PERFECT Staple to Keep - or gift!) (26)Karen T says

You can make “super-fine” sugar if you put your regular granulated sugar in a food processor or high-powered blender. Not sure what the ratio would be though. Sorry, don’t know if that was helpful or not!

Powdered sugar includes corn starch, so it acts as a thickener. I would suggest you add a tablespoon of cornstarch with your granulated sugar, if you don’t have any powdered sugar.

Hi Nany – you can, but I wouldn’t go less than 1 cup of the regular sugar. 🙂
