âYou may run, you may hide. But in the end, it is you who will come to me! For I, alone, can give you the answers you seek. I, alone, know who you truly are. And you know that I speak the truth! You can sense it!â

What's up in the neighborhood?
My May 1st newsletter was a celebratory oneâwhat with Ben Archer and the Cosmic Fall being named a Book of the Decade by the Wishing Shelf Book Awards (UK) and Exostar being selected as the Grand Prize Winner in the CIBA 2023 Gertrude Warner Book Awards (US). I didnât want to dampen the mood.
But the truth is that my newly discovered superpower, myalgic encephalomyelitis (M.E.), has had me tripping and falling as I try to tame this chronic illness. I feel like Ben Archer at the beginning of his adventures when he rejected his alien skill because it frightened him. Being diagnosed with a chronic illness is something completely new to me and I havenât quite gotten the hang of it yet.
Fortunately, I found a Superpower Specialist who put me on a magic potion and recommended I follow a How To Manage Your Superpower-course. Itâs going to take several months before I see any benefit from this treatment. I may lower my presence on social media for a few months to focus on getting better. But if Ben Archer can overcome great odds and learn to wield his alien skill, then so can I, right?
If you want to know what itâs like living with M.E. and/or Long Covid, the Instagram social media influencer @_jemma_bella does a much better job than me!
Please note that, because of this situation, Iâm currently unable to make multiple trips to the post office to send autographed books. However, you can find digitally signed hardcovers on my website.
