A small university. Not many spots in lectures, so hard to get classes. Great school to transition out of hs to because it's essay to meet people, maybe not all 4yrs. Fyi, If you plan to live on residence the dinning hall WILL take all the joy out of food and maybe send you to the hospital. Careful with profs some are only there to research.

This is a great university overall. The campus is beautiful, and the students and staff are stellar. I recommend this to anyone looking for a reputable university who desires a closely-knit social scene.

Close-knit community but in terms of academics, food, and extracurriculars, it totally sucks. Safety is another issue that has come up recently, given that Kelowna is #2-3 in crime rates in Canada. Professors are there for research and not to teach. A lot of unnecessary endeavours which can be turned into something useful for students.

If you want and like a smaller university campus that's out of the way more. The school visits its world kind of. Overall the study spots are new and very nice but need to grow to fit how many students go there. There is walking and good nature close by.

Overall is not a bad school, but compared to UBC Vancouver this is like a dollar store version of that. Kelowna is not a good city to live in, is a vacation place for rich people in the summer so in the winter there's nothing to do. Also, the living expenses are just as expensive as Vancouver

Worst food options, subpar facility and common spaces that are always full because there aren't enough of them for all the students. Needs so much work to be a good space for students to live in and actually experience school culture and spirit.

Small school so you will often see the same faces around campus. Great location if you love outdoor activities such as skiing and mountain biking. The weather is great compared to many other cities in Canada. The majority of professors are great and willing to provide help if you have questions. Wish they cleared the sidewalk up Academy Hill tho.

The only link between UBC Okanagan and UBC is just the name of the school. Trash location, nothing in Kelowna and the school is high in the mountain. Low quality of teaching and low quality of food in both the dining hall and restaurants in UNC

Great school for someone who isn't sure about the life path to choose, lots of course options if you'd like to dip into another degree. Lots of study spaces not sure why that's a complaint here as there are 8 buildings that all have lots of seating, power, and are comfortable.

Really good small town feel with big university name. Gets slandered on a lot for being small (limited class selection, less active campus) but that's what a smaller university entails. If you want a close community and less competitive nature than most top 5 unis. Not a party school, more of a skier, outdoorsy school.

Has pros/cons of other small campuses. But: Parking services are psychopathic, housing services are limited and care little about students, food is expensive, and the main dining hall has unclean plates and slug salads, gym is cramped. UBCO cares only for profit, the separate SUO org does bandage work to help us students. Comp Sci profs are okay.

This school is not worth attending to. Its a waste of time, money, and energy because this school is a joke compared to the Vancouver one. the campus looks dead most the time, and the food is inedible and not affordable most the time. It will be your worst mistake to come here. Education is poorly constructed. Teachers are underqualified. Mistake.

Firstly, this school has only limited amount of course schedule choice and flexibility. Secondly, the financial assistance is very limited. They get rid of the only opportunity for an award ($500 or $1000) to "reallocate" the fund. Finally, the housing is expensive. You rather pay the same in Van if you have choice for the program. Period.

I am going into my final year at UBCO for my degree and if I could have, I would have picked the Vancouver campus to go to instead or literally anywhere else in Canada. Profs are helpful and kind, but other than that, the food is bad, its expensive, it needs work, needs more study spaces and the campus is far away from everything else in Kelowna.

I did a BA in psychology at UBCO-grad year 2023. Pros: excellent professors in psyo department. Interesting courses. Loved Woodsworth and his Forensic's classes. Campus is on the small side-easy to get around. Pretty campus.Cons: lacks study spaces. Too far from town, so it's best to live off campus, but this makes it hard to meet people.

I have been at this school for two years and have worked and studied here. The community is great and its easy to make friends. You are surrounded by trails and mountains so the view is always 10/10. The university is constantly improving study areas.There are an endless amount of resources to support you and I have always found new opportunities.
